During this event, you’ll be able to catch as many Digletts as possible, which may lead you to finding a 100% perfect IV Diglett or a shiny Diglett. Elsewhere in the world of Pokémon Go, the Mountains of Power event is currently running during the Season of Heritage alongside the Go Battle League. You can also partake in January’s XP challenge if you’ve purchased a Go Tour: Johto ticket. On this page: Evolving such a Diglett will give you a Dugtrio with perfect IV stats. Dugtrio might not be the most powerful ground-type Pokémon in the game, but, when powered up, it can still hold its own in the Go Battle League and Gyms. The CP values that correspond to perfect 15/15/15 values are as follows:
Level 30 (wild CP maximum) - 579 CP Level 35 (weather boosted CP maximum) - 628 CP
The wild CP value aligns with your trainer level until you reach Level 30 and, since the majority of the player base is now above Level 30, we’ve kept to the values above to keep things simple. These values will, however, be different if you’re currently below Level 30. Diglett’s shiny form was released as part of the Earth Day 2019 event which ran from April 29th to May 2nd. Once you’ve caught a shiny Diglett, you can evolve it into a shiny Dugtrio using 50 Diglett Candy to fill in another entry in the shiny section of your Pokédex. It’s important to remember that only the Diglett spawn rate will be increased during the Spotlight Hour, not the shiny encounter rate. This means that you’re working with the regular shiny rate for Diglett, so, even if you spend the whole hour searching, there’s still a chance you can’t find one. The Season of Mythical Wishes continues with the Winter Holiday event, which has brought Mega Glalie to Pokémon Go. Don’t forget to partake in the new Go Battle League season. Elsewhere, be sure to use Daily Adventure Incense for the chance of encountering Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos and Galarian Moltres.
Since this week’s bonus is double catch stardust, catching Diglett after Diglett will help you restock stardust, which is especially useful if you’re running low. By catching a bunch of Digletts, you’ll be adding progress to your ground-type catch medal. This Spotlight Hour is also a great opportunity to gather Diglett candy; this can be for powering up Diglett, evolution or, if you have one, evolving an Alolan Diglett into an Alolan Dugtrio.
Spotlight Hour lasts from 6pm to 7pm (local time) and, while this week is all about Diglett, next week - on Tuesday, 18th January - Plusle, alongside a double catch candy bonus, will be highlighted!
